I think I have learned more in these last two months about myself than I have in the past 30 years!
Q: How old is your kid(s)? A:My son Hunter will be two months old tomorrow!
Q: What did you think when you found out you were pregnant? A:My husband and I were SO excited and surprised. Even though we had been trying for a couple months, we still were so shocked and in awe when we saw “pregnant” appear on the test.
Q:Was your birth what you had envisioned or different from previous birth(s)? A:Completely different than what I had envisioned. I wanted to have a more natural vaginal birth (who doesn’t) but ended up having to have a c-section. It was a tough pill to swallow at the time- but I always knew the most important part of the birth was that mama and baby were happy so at the end of the day I was so happy with the outcome. Q: How do you like to relax? Or take time for yourself? A:This was something that took a while for me to figure out. Having a baby is such a life changing experience, and the things that I used to love like working out- I couldn’t do right away. So I had to get creative. In the beginning a nice long shower felt like heaven! Now, I find that going to a work out class or just leaving my son with my mom while I get a coffee allows be to relax and recharge. Q: What is one thing you have noticed a change in yourself since becoming a mom? A: How much I can function on less than 5 hours of sleep! No but really, being a new mommy given me strength I didn’t even know I had!
"..You are the most precious evidence of God's goodness and grace.."
Q: From wherever you are at this moment, looking back would you have done anything differently? A:No, I think I have learned more in these last two months about myself than I have in the past 30 years! Every experience has taught me so many lessons and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Q: What lesson has motherhood has taught you? A:Not be so hard on myself. You never know how your birth will go or what kind of baby you will have. So try and be open to all possibilities. Ahhh I wish I would have given myself more grace as I figured out my role as a new mommy.
Q: Any advice for moms to be? A: Iknow it’s been said a billion times and you won’t understand it fully until your a mommy yourself but, try and soak up every moment with your little one. Every diaper change, every whining moment because it’s all fleeting! Motherhood is the toughest but the most AMAZING blessing you will every receive
