My kids make me want to be a better person, and inspire me to make a difference in the world
Q: How old is your kid(s)? A:Charlotte is 2.5 and Greyson is 14 months.
Q: What did you think when you found out you were pregnant? A:With Charlotte we had been trying for awhile so I was just very excited and scared and ready for the journey ahead! When I found out I was pregnant with Greyson I could not believe it! We had just started trying and assumed it would take a few months to conceive like it did with Charlotte, but no it happened very quickly! So there I was with a positive pregnancy test, and a 10 month old in the bath tub!
Q:Was your birth what you had envisioned or different from previous birth(s)? A:With both births I went in with 0 expectations as long as I left with a healthy baby I’d be happy. After going in to have a cervical ripening done I was monitored for several hours. It seemed like when I was standing, or walking her heart rate would drop so I was admitted, and they would start induction later that day. I was fearful of having a cesarean and told my doctor, he really came through for me, even when all the nurses around me were saying I’d have to have a c-section after 35 hours of labor with a posterior baby! He insisted on waiting another hour and sure enough baby had flipped and was ready to go, 5 minutes of pushing and she was out! Having been induced already with baby #1 my doctor had offered to schedule an induction with my second. After 7 hours of labor and another 5 minutes of pushing my baby boy was born. I think that my mind set was so much different the second time around, I had a very good idea of what was going to happen and was much more calm and relaxed.
Q: How do you like to relax? Or take time for yourself? A:Going to the gym is my way of taking care of myself. I love the post workout high! Plugging in my headphones and tuning out the rest of the world for an hour is my way of relaxing.
Q: What is one thing you have noticed a change in yourself since becoming a mom? A: I think everything around you changes when you become a mom. My kids make me want to be a better person and inspire me to make a difference in the world, to leave a better planet for them.
"...lol I don't take many blog worthy photos"
Q: From wherever you are at this moment, looking back would you have done anything differently? A:No, I believe that things happens the way they do for a reason. My kids were given to me because I was meant to be their mother. People think I’m crazy for having 2 under 2 but I wouldn’t want it any other way. Actually if I could do one thing differently I would SLOW DOWN.
Q: What lesson has motherhood has taught you? A:Patience, to slow down.. to stop and touch the grass or stare at an airplane in the sky. Q: Any advice for moms to be? A: Do what you think is best for your kids do your own research. Don’t let your parents or any other elder tell you “we didn’t do it like that back in my day” or “we did it this way and you turned out ok” Soak in all the midnight cuddles. Because they won’t last forever. Even when you’re so tired you could cry just stop and soak in the magic that is happening in the silence of the night while you sit in your rocking chair rocking your sweet baby.
